Ortahisar, Trabzon — Türkiye
Ortahisar Municipality (OM) is the central district municipality of Trabzon, a major port city on the eastern Black Sea coast of Türkiye. As a local government institution, Ortahisar Municipality is actively engaged in coastal management, sustainable urban development, and cross-border cooperation initiatives.
As the Lead Partner of BlueDial, OM coordinates all project activities, manages financial reporting, and ensures that the project's objectives are met in accordance with the Black Sea Basin Programme requirements. OM brings significant institutional experience in international cooperation projects and deep expertise in maritime and coastal governance.
Trabzon's strategic location on the Black Sea coast makes OM a natural anchor for Black Sea Region cooperation, providing both geographic and administrative leadership for the BlueDial network.
Three expert organizations from Bulgaria, Romania, and Georgia contributing specialized knowledge in marine ecosystems, ecology, and coastal tourism.
Bulgaria 🇧🇬
Marine Cluster Bulgaria (MCB) is a leading Bulgarian maritime industry association that brings together companies, research institutions, and public bodies active in the maritime sector. MCB specializes in Blue Economy development, maritime industry promotion, and cross-border cooperation in the Black Sea Region.
Within the BlueDial project, MCB plays a key role in stakeholder engagement in Bulgaria, facilitating national dialogue sessions and contributing expertise on maritime industry governance and Blue Economy best practices from the Bulgarian perspective.
Romania 🇷🇴
Ecological NGO Mare Nostrum is a Romanian civil society organization dedicated to the protection of the Black Sea marine environment and the promotion of sustainable coastal management. With decades of experience in environmental advocacy and marine research, Mare Nostrum is a respected voice in Romanian and Black Sea ecological affairs.
In the BlueDial project, Mare Nostrum contributes expertise in marine ecology, environmental policy, and civil society engagement, ensuring that sustainability considerations are central to all policy recommendations and network activities.
Georgia 🇬🇪
The Tourism Institute of Georgia is a specialized research and policy organization focused on sustainable tourism development, coastal tourism management, and the integration of tourism into broader Blue Economy frameworks. The Institute provides expertise on the intersection of marine ecosystem conservation and sustainable economic development.
Within BlueDial, the Tourism Institute contributes Georgia's perspective on coastal Blue Economy opportunities, supports stakeholder engagement in the South Caucasus dimension of the Black Sea Region, and brings valuable expertise in sustainable maritime tourism policy.
